Hungarian economic growth forecast for 2012 was recently corrected downward to 0.5%. However, as Hungary is a very open economy and greatly dependent on its export partners, its economic outlook is very much dependent on international events.
As Hungary’s sovereign debt rating has recently been downgraded to speculative levels by all three major credit rating agencies, 2012 promises to be a challenging year for the country.
